KLO (AM)

KLO is a news/talk radio station broadcasting out of Ogden, Utah to the Salt Lake City area. The station airs syndicated conservative talk shows, including Bill Bennett, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Mills Crenshaw, Hugh Hewitt, and Mike Gallagher. When startup 97.5 FM Talk changed its format in late 2006, KLO added Michael Savage and Bill O'Reilly, who had previously been a part of their lineup. KLO's skywave signal has been heard as far away as Casa Grande, Arizona at night.
In 2012, Capital Broadcasting purchased KJQN from Simmons Media for $1.5 million and began simulcasting KLO's programming on 103.1 FM. The purchase was approved by the FCC in July and KJQN promptly changed its call letters to KLO-FM.〔(Capital Broadcasting buys Salt Lake City FM station )〕
As of Monday June 9, 2014, 103.1 FM is the new "Sunny 103", and KLO is AM only.

All four of KLO's four towers are different heights, which is unusual.
==History==

KLO originally signed on in the mid-20s as KFUR. Its current calls came about in the 1930s in honor of Mt. Lomond located near Ogden. KLO was the flagship of the Interstate Broadcasting Corporation, later the Intermountain Network.〔(Salt Lake Broadcasting History )〕
